Tidal Project Under Construction
First grid-connected generation in Maine
The first grid-connected tidal energy project in the U.S. is under construction and should be generating power by mid-summer.
A single, maximum design-capacity device rated at 180-kW developed by Ocean Renewable Power Co. is being assembled and readied for installation at the company's Cobscook Bay project site in far eastern Maine.
“We’re now at a point where our TidGen Power System is ready for its first commercial installation,” Chris Sauer, ORPC’s President and CEO
