ENTECCO proposes massive solar project of up to 2,000 MW in New York | RenewablesBiz

ENTECCO LLC and its team are proposing a renewable power generation project that will be a “Renewable Energy Delivery Hub,” dedicated to the generation of photo voltaic (PV) or concentrated photo voltaic (CPV) solar energy at a size of up to 2,000 MW, to be located in Seneca County, N.Y.
A proposal from ENTECCO was one of dozens offered recently as part of New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Energy Highway initiative, which is being handled administratively by the New York Power Authority. Comments are being taken on the proposals until July 31, with the Energy Highway task force to then prepare a report for the governor.
The ENTECCO project is named Central Solar City (CSC) and would have the potential to be the largest single solar hub of its kind in the U.S. The proposed project size would range from about 100 acres/20 MW (the minimum pilot configuration) to 10,000 acres/2,000 MW (maximum configuration), the company noted. The location is in the New York ISO Zone C in Seneca County. The earliest date the project can be operational is 10 to 12 months after contract approval for the first 20 MW.
