To come up during the 12th Plan period with an estimated investment of over Rs 3 lakh crore

“Time has come to think of new processes and of tackling new challenges. I am not saying that the present systems are not safe. There is a necessity now to do this in the country to restore the confidence of people in the safety of the technology,” Srikumar Banerjee, chairman, Atomic Energy Commission, and secretary, Department of Atomic Energy, said here on Monday.The Indian nuclear energy establishment is gearing up to start work on 20 nuclear reactors with an estimated investment of over Rs 3 lakh crore during the 12th Plan period.
