TN plans solar parks to add 1000 mw in 5 years

Tamil Nadu government plans to set up solar parks in various districts under public
and private modes to achieve 1,000 mw of solar power in the next five years. The move is in line with the state government’s Vision 2023 plan, which envisages solar power capacity addition of 5,000 mw over the next 11 years.
After achieving leadership position in harnessing energy from wind, Tamil Nadu is now keen on achieving progress in solar energy, as the state is said to be receiving very high solar radiation with 300 clear sunny days in a year.
